Individual Counseling
Each student is assigned a Masters level clinician who oversees the therapeutic process and provides individual counseling to the child throughout his or her stay in the program. Each child meets with his or her clinician upon admission to the program and weekly thereafter. Individual sessions focus on issues specific to the child, beginning with the focus on the map of treatment and the child’s adjustment the program. As the child progresses through the stage system, individual counseling will change focus to accommodate the needs of the child. As the child prepares for discharge, individual counseling focuses on the transition to the home environment and life after graduation from the program.
Specialized Group Counseling
Many of the students enrolled in our program have similar issues and benefit from sharing experiences and promoting change in a group of peers. Three Springs uses specialty group counseling to focus on specific issues of concern in an environment that the students find safe. The program is flexible in responding to the needs of the students and the topics for these 10-14 week sessions change accordingly. Substance Abuse Education and Prevention, Adoption Issues, Abuse Survivorship, Healthy Boundaries, Social Skills, and Grief are examples of topics that the program may cover in these specialized weekly counseling sessions.
